Encased in an impenetrable coffin
Free to play havoc abundantly
Undisputable.
Equally irrational
And engraved in mind;
Flowing through consciousness
Opal and ominously translucent
Submerged beneath
The depths of the brain.
Grasping and tormenting
Sinking its talons relentlessly
Cutting canals of thought
Deep into the organ’s flesh
Feeding off its host;
Suddenly it writhers
Only to return but in mounting
Desperation, it plunges its
Razors into the mind
Of the worrier
Incapable of escaping worry’s grasp
Salvaging, dissecting fragments
Of yesterday’s thoughts
They hover. Clinging
To the cortex. And
Of no use are the words
Of the worriless.
Unique, devilishly lonely
In one’s ability to perceive
The world.
Wasting energy
The mind is exhausted
Inflicting such pointless worry
Yet. It remains unrivaled
In my mind it feeds. |
