Hooray - it's SSC11, woo, etc... but seriously, rules and stuff:
I wont restrict the word count because, to be honest, we want to encourage all the entries we can get at the moment. Even if it's just a few paragraphs, it's welcome.
Likewise there's no limit on the number of entries per person either.
Topic is Island. We haven't had that before surprisingly enough. Use it as you see fit, all I'm after is a good read.
Have your entries in for Monday 28th May.
But most importantly: have fun. If you don't have fun, you'll be disqualified immediately.

Thanks, Mav. They were all a great read.
And without further ado, I shall create the next Short Story title.

Right, I've decided.
The winner is Wish You Were Here by pb.
Well done.
That genuinely was a difficult decision - they were all good, not much to choose at all. In the end I went for pb's simply because I enjoyed it the most.

Hm, this is quite a tough decision. Many of the stories offered very different things.
pb's was the most captivating.
Grix Thraves' was the most poetic.
Silent Thunder's had the strongest narrative (A Grave Secret).
BLJ's had some nice ideas.
I'll have to think it over a bit - winner will be up tonight.

Sadly, I'll sit this out. I've been preoccupied with something else and I don't think I'll be able to come up with something worthwhile.
By the way, I am/was Sibelius. I changed my name then changed it back.

Well there's another day anyhow, because I really won't get time to judge it tomorrow.

If you've got something on the go, I don't mind pushing the deadline back a bit. I'm quite busy tomorrow so I don't think I'd be able to judge it then anyway.
I was also hoping to see something from Everpain, NickGreen, Revolver, Sibelius and tnc... so if any of those are wanting to enter, let me know.
I'd be quite happy to let this run an extra week if it meant two or three more entries.

I'm a bit low on inspiration at the moment. I'll read the others entries in the hope that a will-o'-the-wisp will whisper an idea or two.

Good stuff, four entries already, and hopefully a few more before the week's up.
Sorry I haven't read any yet. Had exams and stuff... also I'm a bit of a layabout.
I'll try and leave a few comments tomorrow.

Ah, finally finished mine.
Not sure where the idea came from, it just slowly made itself clear.

Yes, go go go. I remember you writing a story once about a lad wanting a kipper for his dinner which was pretty good.
Cheers Grix, good to see you back, I'll try and get to that one soon.

Think I might have a go at this one. IT's a very broad subject area, which I like :)

Y'know, I think you might have something there Everpain.
But yeah, I did realise that the first thing that's going to spring to mind is Lost and I almost went with something else because of it.
Really though, if you can look past that then there's a lot of scope. Hell, it doesn't have to be set on an island at all, and I'm not going to mark anyone down if I can't see how they've used the theme.
Use it as a setting, use it as an inspiration, use it however you choose - I don't mind. Anything that's good will do.

Cue half a dozen cheap Lost clones as helicopters crash on some random puff of sand and the survivors are tormented by them as they attempt to unravel the mysteries of the strange powers randomly bestowed upon them.
Then the doc will give into his carnal cravings and hump Kate's leg with a crazed look on his face not dissimilar to that one might expect on someone taking a table tennis paddle to their own haemorrhoids, while jumping up and down on broken glass.
