One bright morning Old Man Fog was walking through the Woods on His way to the Village when He stumbled across an unusual thing: it was the Headless Corpse of a man slumped against the wide trunk of an oak tree. Old Man Fog observed the lifeless body with a raised eyebrow then continued on His way to the Village, and before long He emerged from the Woodland's eaves and strode along one of the many cobblestone streets.
As He approached the Village Church, a young woman who knew Old Man Fog came rushing towards Him waving her arms. "Mister Fog! Mister Fog!" she called (in somewhat of a panic), "Have you seen my husband? He went for a walk in the Woods last night and has not returned! I'm sick with worry. Have you seen him?" Hmm, thought Old Man Fog, scratching his eyebrows, "I might have seen your husband ... but that would depend on whether he left your house last night without his Head." |
