Well if you have a freeloader, DVDBoxOffice is selling SOAL for £13, which I quite a nice price. If you havent got a freeloader, then they only cost about £15 or probably less, which still beats the eBay prices. Tho you will have the American version. Whether that bothers you i dont know...

i do have free loader but the only thing i worry about is that they might charge me customs which is what i do not want. I just phoned my local game store and they didnt really talk to me very well, as soon as i aksed if they stock soal they just said no and i asked if they had them used he sed no again without checking. Really cheesed (cant swear) me off, yer but i dont mind having the american version for that price, do you know if they will charge customs or any other form of tax?

The game is under £20 so they can't charge you customs. Also they mark the item as either a gift or a $10 book, so you wont get hit on customs charges, as long as you don't order from Lik-Sang.

Oh yep. Maybe it was the N64 graphics or the gameplay that made me feel like I was stabbing myself repeatedly in my testicals, but Spyhunter sure wins for me.

Aw, Paper Mario 2 is a fantastic game, mate. It's a tad expensive still, but its definitely worth it. Baten Kaitos is an absolute beast of a game too, I'm sure you'll like that.
The best RPG on the Cube bar none is Tales Of Symphonia though - I'm sure you can get that cheap over in America due to it selling quite well over there, and my god, it's just such an amazing game.

Agreed. I absolutely loved it, and it's definitely one of my favourite games ever. It's so nice to have an RPG without a turn-based battle system, and one that actually WORKS.
Aaah.

Well whatever you're more in the mood for at the moment. I preferred Resi 4, and if graphics are your thing it wins on every count. It is shorter, but, in my opinion, more fun.

i agree. depressing considering its a DC import, the now dead console. to be fair, the GC version is apparently far superior e.g. less random encounters, that was the main criticism for the DC version. maybe if we're lucky sega will make a sequel, there was rumours about one a while ago. whether its production was haulted due to DC's death isn't known, but i hope the unfinished version is lying in some sega developers desk, waiting for people to realise what a class game arcadia is. at this late stage in the cubes life, i don't think arcadia will achieve much more than its cult status.
one of the few games that nintendo buy the exclusive rights to doesn't sell well enough for a sequel to be made, eventhough i couldnt want a sequel to this more than any other game. typical nintendo. if it hadn't got cancelled for ps2 maybe we would have a sequel. i guess we'll never know.

The way you have changed my name into an insult is absolutely hilarious. It really is.
And if you like Skies more, fine, its a good game. I don't care.

This is what I think...
Skies of Arcadia > Tales of Symponia
Tales of Symponia = Baten Kaitos
Skies of Arcadia > Baten Kaitos
Although they are my most fav 3 games on the GC apart from MK:DD and SSBM.

i finally got skies of arcadia today. I am upto the bit where we go back to pirate isle and the captain (father is calling the guy and tells him to bring the girl with her). Hopefully it gets better along the way. I bought this game mainly because i think pirates are really cool so i hope theres more to the pirate side as well.
Next on my list seems to be
tales of symphonia from all the great reviews but i may order this from the usa as its only 20 dollars (£13).
After that baten kaitos, the only thing holding me back on this is the card battle system, i bought metal gear acid for the psp and hated the card crap so is this a good card system.
After that is resident evil 4, i just hope it becomes players choice so i can get it for £20 :)

You'll love it, like all RPGs it takes a while to get hooked but you will. Once you meet Drachma, the storyline kicks in.. awesomeness. Valua. The Delphinus.. Dude just me writing about it is making me wanna go play it again :)

The card system takes a while to get used to, but it is a change and does work.

I don't know if you'll believe this, but I've actually only realised you're name sounds kinda like "gimboid". :) Oh well.
No offence meant, honestly. I just get all defensive over Skies. My baby it is. *Strokes picture of Fina on the box*
Tales is a great game, although its less well rounded. Skies to me just seems more "complete" if you know what I mean. Then again Tales has Sheena, so I can't really complain. Both great, we just disagree on which is greatererer.

thanks for all the help. I seriously considering on buying tales very soon, but the only thing is its going for 20 dollars in america and over here its 30 quid. Also i cant find tales in stock in all my local stores or the internet. Are they going out of print as well?
I really wanna buy this game because its not turn based. Talk about old games but i absolutely loved PSO becuase of all the freedom you had to go and explore places and hand to hand combat, it made it feel more real. Well in a fantasy type of world.
So thats why im really interested in tales. Do you guys know of any other games that are not turn based but in the RPG section?

Lost Kingdoms 1 + 2, card based real time battles, but I wouldn't touch the first one at all.
If you want something that acts like an RPG but is real time action then Eternal Darkness is definetly one to get. It has magic, weapons undead and monsters, and this game is so much like an rpg (except no stats) that I loved it.

Heh, thats fine mate. Yeah both games are exceptional, and I remember when I first bought Skies on the DC. Jeez, me and my mate would ramble on what is better - Final Fantasy VII or Skies. I always get a sense of nostalgia when I play Skies, however when I played Tales, I dunno - I changed my mind!
Honestly everytime when I play Tales, I feel a gush of excitement spurt out of me... :p

yes skies does take a while to get going. i remember the first dungeon to be alright, but some of the later ones are absolutely quality. i think it was when i first got to valua that i realised how absolutely amazing it was. the characters started to open up in the desolate surroundings and such. i can't really put into words how great this game is. just play it.

I am really sad now that my original copy of skies of arcadia: legends has a bug in it that stops me getting any further than the ice area, as soon as I travel in a particular section of air above the ice the game freezes, this happens every time. Noooooo!!!!! *Sob...sniff, sniff...*

i have to say i am really starting to like this game, from the first battle i had with the black pirate i was really happy about the pirate theme of the game. The only thing that confused me was that i recieved an item where the metal armed guy said it upgrades the ship power or something. I dont know how to use it though, any help? Sorry im not that good at the charecter names yet.
I must say it took me a while to figure out how to get to sailors island through the passage as i was stuck for about 30 mins trying to figure it out. Mind you that got me levelled up pretty well so it was ok.
But yes im planning to pick up tales some time soon. Hopefully used so that i dont have to dish out some extra cash. Or i will get it from the usa.

Are you sure its just not the disc? Give it a good ol' wipe, and then a CD cleaner on it. It might just do the trick, but if not then the game is pretty hard to find at a reasonable price.
