Really great game. I love RPGs, I haven't got far, got to the fire dungeon. I got a few questions about the battle system:
How do you switch the character who you are controlling?
What are status supplies? Apparently you can get them in towns.
How do you build up good combos? In the IGN review it says "Certain combinations of techs will result in powerful new moves -- which means that you're encourage to experiment with attacks (and there are a lot of combinations)"
Also, can you only do combos with the person you are controlling?
No spoilers please :)

Holy Judgement (Use Judgement and Holy Song 50 times each)
A mistake? Hardly!
A combonation of Holy Song, and the damaging lights of Judgement.
TP 100

Damage type: Light
Special Notes: Collet's Hi-Ougi. Is performed at random times.

Well, it's happened a lot more recently (the yellow bar ladeda), and every tiem it happens, Collette casts "Holy Judgement" which appears to be Holy Song and Judgement in one.
It's really powerful too.
I think it's a secret move though, as I can't force her to cast it.
I wonder if everyone has secret moves.

If you want to play through all the side quests and the main game you're looking at 70-80 hours, when I completed all the side quests I was already up to level 87 with 4 of my characters.

I started playing this again the other day, and I have a query.
I'm in Ymir forest (look away if you haven't played this far), and I flew over to an island with a single boar, and that was it.
When fighting it, Colette started a spell of some sort, and when casted the name at the top was "????".
Then she went "Oops, sorry" because nothing happened, and her face came across the top half of the screen and she said "What the?".
Is this related to anything, because I'm really confused, and I can't find anything of Gamefaqs.

No way, if you wanted to get absolutely everything it's a lot more than 40 hours. I think my first play through was around 45-50 hours.

Was it just me, or did you ALWAYS choose Sheena for things like the dinner party, swimming costumes (:D) etc?
Needless to say she appeared at the end, but I won't say anymore as it'll spoil it. :)
Genius game.

I want to get hit too!!
Seriously though, its a great game. Fourty hours of gameplay minimum. Nice story, solid battle system, and the "skit" feature is rather class, even if its not voiced.
Plus it has Sheena. (y)

Yup this is nearly my favourite Gamecube game. Okay, what ya need to do to switch characters is go to the menu screen (the pause menu screen, not main menu) and scroll downwards to highlight the characters. To indicate that they are being used, there is a red flag next to them - anyway if you want to switch between the characters, just press A when highlighting them.
I forgot about status supplies, look on gamefaqs.
To bulid good combos, go to the Tech section on the menu screen (again, not main menu) and create the most convenient actions by making them easy to access whilst battling. Then, when battling, keep using your moves fluently and always point towards them and then upwards. Also, get good weaponary aswell, and customisation helps too.
You can do combos with everyone.
