At least it's in there for people to agree or disagree too.
I just played an hour and a bit of it and i have to say i quite like it, it feels very different to CSS and that style of play, it's more like the cheap CS style games for the unreal engine 'Urban combat' or what ever it was called.
The guns i found very easy to get used to and you can kinda see it being something that started off as a console idea, aiming having very little to do with killing people.
The differnt mines and grenades make for an entertaining game as you don't always notice the little mine above you that is quite happily flashing a green light till it's ready to blow your face off.
Movement wise it feels more Quake 3 than anything else the sort of game where you run around and blast everything that moves while jumping to your little bunny hop ass off.
servers are small around 8 people per game but thats because the levels are small at the moment, i would much prefer to play the single player than the multi as the video it shows got me all excited.
Change the graphics options and then click test and it runs a 2 minute in game move with those settings making you want to see the story and get blasting.
My computer handles it easily and when i set it to maxium everything and run the test it makes a recomendation and it said turn up for detail settings (but they where already at max). I can't see anyone with a compatable graphics card not being able to run this well.
It was just a shame about the ping as there was only one european server running and there was only 4 of us so it would be better with 8.

Going to give this a go now. Just got some way better ram delivered today 2 x Corsair 1gb sticks rather than my cheap crucial ram. Looks quality. However a lot of people seem disappointed with it. Hopefully BF2 will be here tomorrow..day off work and on friday..can't wait! :D

This game is all about the shadows for multiplayer, may a time i have been camping behind a create and across the courtyard seen a shadow running along the wall, seconds later a guy is going to pop out and i had a grenade there waiting for him.
The explosions in this look great much like the nades in KOTOR 2 ones with the funky looking distortion.
Slow mo is very confusing if you are not in a fight at the time, a guy picks up the slow-mo item then after a while it gets fully charged if he has had it long enough, then at any time he can activate it and everyone gets slow-mo.
This would be the perfect game for nash and merm there are tk's every 2 seconds due to everyone looking the same, apart from your own team have their name on them where as the enemy don't. Throwing nades and then wishing you had not, happens every game.
Good fun for short games.

It is kinda crap but in a fun way.
My PC has just displayed an error :( i think it is time for a format, going to transfer everything to my creative zen and then wipe it.
I know i am going to miss something, i always do :(
Normally i format once every 3 months but for my final year of uni i didn't want to format incase i lost something important. probably will do the laptop as well as it's got alot of crap on too.

Finally got it all sorted out, in between eating dinner and watching Anchorman and Dodgeball.
Glad it's all sexy and clean now though. Just got to reinstall my life-takers...I mean games.
Did anyone download the 'Windows XP WoW Theme Pack' as advertised on the Official website? I have a sneaking suspicion that it contained the 180SA virus - as I didn't have any problems before I installed that. I even did System Restore to a point before I installed it and my comp was relatively bug free (minus a few trackers that AdAware got rid of). That's the only unknown thing I have downloaded recently, so I blame that.

MY Cd-Key doesn't actually work.
Not that many things through Bit-Torrent do.
Does anyone have a CD-Key spare. If you don't play it anymore and could let me (jjtwalton@hotmail.com) have yours, i'd be your friend forever.
Thanks!

I did play it at my mates house, and I was quite impressed.
The bulk of my praise is directed towards the hit detection. If you shoot someone, they die. Headshots are definite kills, the Shotgun is as effective as it should be from certain distances. The weight of the guns is also pretty good. The game is fluid, looks great on high settings and plays well. There's a decent stable of weapons, the controls are fully mapable, the effects are nice, the blood spatter is good and the voice-over is good.
I genuinely think this will be very popular online. You can shoot people for ages in CSS and they don't die... it's not very easy for newbies to get in. Where as F.E.A.R has a solid mechanics foundation that anyone can adapt to. I've shot people in CSS enough times and they haven't died. I think the hit detection, as i've said, it amazing.
I'm sick of games and their poorly coded hit-boxes. Rainbow 3, for example is amazingly popular, but mechanically it's sh*t. The control is clunky, it's full of glitches. Other than a few menu problems, there seems to be very little wrong with the game. I can't wait for the Min game and the Multiplayer should come about around the time that the BF2 craze is cooling down.
Definitely top of my list for PC games followed by B&W II, AOE III and Empire at War.
Should be a good Q3-4 for PC gaming. Plus there's all the 360/PSP business.

Source is ok looks wise and effects but it's terrible for running well, my computer is still getting pretty low FPS where as BF2 gives me 75-80 most ofthe time CSS is around 20-30.
They should really rework the hit boxes in HL2 and CSS but if they did can you imagine all the CSS players crying about the fact that it's been changed.

They re-did all the CS: Source hit boxes a while back and I haven't had a problem since.
People think they can open fire and keep it held down whilst doing the same damage as the first bullet they fired and it doesn't work like that. I rarely finish outside of the top 3 on any server I play on simply by taking pot shots semi-automatically to make sure I deal the most damage in a few a shots as possible.
If you are up close then spraying is fine, you will most likely nail em, if you use that tactic in the outside/open environments you will get screwed quickly.
Also don't have any performance issues with Source, rarely drop under 100 FPS with the average being 120, runs like a dream.

i joined a game for a few minutes yesterday with merm and nash in CSS and it was just Headshot, Headshot, Headshot, Headshot, Headshot, Headshot, Headshot, Headshot.
i don't even aim in source i just spray in their general direction and often i will win the fight.

I spoke to a F.E.A.R QA Lead the other day, and he said it'd run better on 'not so amazing' PC's by the time it's out.
He sucked though... at the MP. He was tactical, to a degree.... but he got owned. I had to show him why the SMG is the best gun and why shotgun asses deserve death. And those stupid crouchers... and bunny hoppers...
Pu&&ies.
