it is an extreamely good game, not just in things like gameplay and graphics, but the whole universe it creates is intriging, and going through time is fascinating.
Also the atmos is un-matched in any other game in my opinion, in no other game have i ever wished for the next chapter to start in order the to feel secure in myself. some parts of the game scared me, and the magic system is great.

Hey GingerD ;)
Yup, you've definitely made a decent purchase there. It's so different to Resident Evil series, and the gameplay mechanics work really well. Deep game, too - but I'm not sure if it's your cuppa tea. Ah, well you can always sell it to me! ;p

Yup, sure have - it's an absolutely superb game. Me and my mate can't get past the final boss though...it's really obsecure and I'm not sure if you have to enchant an item, what Magik to use... gah!
But yeah, I definitely preferred it to the Resident Evil remake. The control mechanisms were a lot, lot better, and so was the combat - everything worked superbly, all ontop with some scrummy puzzles to boot. Yeah, that was when the Gamecube was really appreciated by the UK market. Come 2004 though... :(

Or haven't played it that far.
My fav part of the game is making those barrier shields and watching the enemies run into them like flies to a bug zapper.

Thanks to this topic I've gone back to Eternal Darkness - restarted the game as although I remembered it was great, I never completed it and couldn't remember the story up to where I was.
I'm sure I found it easier to find the first stage last time though...
The suspense is just as good as I remember it.

If you're one of those people who think all GC games are for kids (and I'm not saying you are, just if you are) then this game'll change your mind.

Lol. Yeah I really enjoyed this game, aside from being a hack and slash game you can also use magic to create shields, enchant your weapons with one of 4 magical elements, and other nifty stuff too.

yeah this was on of the few cube exclusives i really really liked. now resi 4 changed survival horror games forever and now they will suck:p i think im the only person that thought resi 4 was a let down. it was so overhyped and was so stupidly easy. the storyline was just a joke and easily the worst in the series. its like capcom changed their audience to 5 year olds. still resi 5 will be worth a look.

Stick it on Pro then. I'm 19 and loved it. Sorry.
And the storyline? Well, it wasn't as convoluted as the previous Resis, which is a good and bad thing. Yeah, I missed the UMBRELLA suff and the nasty evil experiments, but to be honest, going mad with a jackhammer on twenty crazy people wanting to eat my head was also terrific fun.
In terms of gameplay, it's light years ahead.

pro is still fairly easy, just the bosses take several attempts, the rest is the same, brainless gaming IMO. if you know the resi 2 storyline, it makes resi 4 look so terrible. its like they tried to use the same plotline but in a different environment, without any detail or depth. the gameplay is fun for a while, its just the same throughout. big let down, if i hadnt collected the rest of the series i would have sold it.

I find all of the older Resi games seriously flawed and boring. For me Resi 4 is a lot more enjoyable to play, and while the storyline isn't amazing, it's better than in most of today's games.
