Look, there he is. That is what you're subjecting gaming to. We can literally hear Gunpei Yoki turning in his grave as his beloved GameBoy gets ready to play host to what can only be one of the most detestable creations ever: the Crazy Frog.
dtp, one of Germany's oldest and wisest publishers was given the rights today, allowing them to publish a range of Crazy Frog themed games on handheld systems, including the GBA.
"The Crazy Frog is one of the most popular licenses of today's entertainment market. It is an exciting project to apply all our developing and publishing experience", says dtp's CEO Thomas Baur.
It will be released during the 'Christmas period' and if it dares to get the Christmas No.1 we will seriously consider our love of gaming. Industry suicide is imminent, the Frog spares.
Oh no....

Let's all pre-order it, make it go gold, and then all cancel en-masse in protest. Leaving retailers with loads of copies to send back and bankrupting whoever is making this crap game.

I'd get a job in a game shop just to stop people from buying this. Fun occurences would appear such as:
"I asked you to fill the shelves. Where are the new Gameboy Advance releases?"
"Stolen. So sad."
"Hi, I'd like to buy the Crazy Frog for my spoilt three year old son who doesn't know how to play games"
"Sorry, it's not out yet."
"But it's right there"
"But it's utter..."

Is there any way we could get the message out to people to boycot this horrid creation and simply NOT BUY the game??? :S
It's either that, or we all go around the night before it's release and destroy EVERY SINGLE piece of advertising we come across... :I
If we can financially cripple the gimps willing to turn the license into a game, perhaps that'll send a message to all the koonts behind the every-other-advert ringtone-advertising campaign.
If you work in a game shop, you'll BURN every copy. Very slowly. Just for your GameBoy and Nintendo.
(It's safe to say this game BELONGS on the PS2, however... ;) )

Sony could pay the development team to put the game on the DS. You use the microphone to make ker-azy noises while DS sales plummet and Sony's hold over the entire games industry skyrockets.

It'll be a side-scrolling platformer, obviously.
That mean you can do the smallest amount of actual work - maybe even use the same code from one of a million other themed side-scrollers and change the main 'character' and the enemies a little bit.

Only if they had a 'squish with large mallet' option. But if it were on DS I'd smash the screen in by mistake.

That's sort of what I was saying...
But if I got the chance to play a game where you pressed buttons to make frog noises to music, reckon I'd get a small kick out it. :-)

It was only the remotest bit funny when it was a simple joke on a random website, you know...with the F1 car, way before they got some stupid frog and spammed it like hell. In my opinion Crazy Frog is little better than pestilance or famine.

They'll 'build' the game with the Crazy Frog in it, and if it's no longer popular, simply replace the Frog with whatever replaces it.
It might be a good game though. Just because the majority of licensed games are rubbish, doesn't mean this one will be...

I can imagine it now.
Each button is a crazy Frog "noise" and you've got to hit them like in a dance game.
Or go freestyle.
I reckon it could be fun.
I liked the Frog until he got in on the music scene.
Funny obscure ringtone/sound effect is where the guy should've stayed!

But once Crazy Frog has gone, there will no doubt be something equally as rampage-inducing in it's place.
This is a sorry state of affairs for the gaming industry. The music industry has been raped already - there's only the movie industry left....oh God no.

Talking about dodgy licensed game my older bro had some McDonalds game on the GameBoy from way back. It's a comletely naff platformer, and stupidly hard (or at least it was back then). And on the subject of Crazy Frog I tend to agree with Jonny Vegas......DIE DIE DIE!!!!!!!

Chr1s is right, people will surely get sick of the Crazy Frog by then. Anyone who pays £25/£20 is a fool.
Actually, anyone who even buys this game is a fool.

Can you really see the Crazy Frog maintaining it's popularity for the next six months? If it manages to, then there is something seriously wrong with people.

It was indeed on The Simpsons... dunno if it was a real game also though. Crazy Frog is a disease to our minds, as if little kids aren't annoying enough :'(

Well, duh, but it's a matter of principles. A Crazy fsking Frog game. You don't see anything wrong with that?

It makes me want to hurt myself, does that count?

Seriously, though, this is a new low in video games. Yes, it's up there with "Mario teacher your kids to read", the Robot add-on for the NES, and The Bible game.
