One of the best games on the SNES, that's for sure.

Preferred it to Secret of Mana to be honest still both games and Link to the Past were 3 of the best. Haven't played Final Fantasy 6..

Awesome indeed, despite never finishing it I love the game dearly. Secret of Mana and Link to the past as with Sniper I'd assume being two of the only games I rate as highly on the Super Nes.

Not gotten onto Chrono Trigger yet.
I would've done but the ebay prices are horrific.
Maybe I'll try some emulations. :-)
Talking Snes, I still find Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country the best games I've come across. I didn't get onto Link to the Past until after playing Windwaker, all the Gameboy ones, N64 ones... it kind of seemed a little out-dated after all of them (I mean, Capcom's latest ones had develloped the series beyond going back - not saying that they were better or anything, just Link to the Past seemed a little empty in comparison. I guess 1991 games age eventually.).
Final Fantasy 6 seemed great until the "end of the world" where momentum completely halted (although before then I'd say it was up to FF7 standard. I'd say it was even better for character devellopment...). I had some great times with a friend on Secret of Mana on school PC's but I guess the "keyboard + no sound" 2 player version didn't quite have the magic as the full version. I did get a Snes one on Ebay but it was NSTC, I used the converter wrong (it didn't come with instructions so I tried everything - ended up blowing the game, the Snes and perhaps the converter too).
I AM in a rambling mood today! :-)

Ditto.
ePSXe is the best Playstation emulator. Luna Silver Star Story seems like a very good RPG, FF9 was great and Valkyrie Profile will be exciting when I try it out.

chrono trigger is just the best RPG ever. frog is the best RPG character ever. once you've played chrono trigger u realise how it revolutionised japanese RPG's and notice its impact on more recent RPG's. don't emu it though, its too good for that. PSONE import is well easy.
im playin through FF6 atm. the presentation of the game is almost identical to chrono trigger. doubt the storyline will be better, but its still good fun.

It was canned. The demo looked nice, though.

Has anyone ever heard of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete? I've been played that Sega CD remake and that seems just as cool.

Truth.
If I remember rightly someone was modding Unreal 2004 and remaking Chrono Trigger completely. Might check their website out again if I can find it, very much doubt the project is alive/anywhere near completion though.

Looks like Square laid down their wrath :( Could have been a pretty cool mod as well.

Wasn't the first 10 minutes of the game remade for the Gamecube by bored Squaresoft coders? I remember hearing about that...

Don't forget they did make a port of Chronno TRIGGER on the PSone with added anime' cutscenes. I've only played a little of Chronno Cross so far, as soon as I finish off some other games I'll get back to it.

I said it was a port didn't I? Isn't a port a direct copy of a game that has been placed on a different console? It's the same game but has a few extra features like an anime' opening cutscene and probably a few others throughout the game at appropriate places in the story.

Agreed. Secret of Mana is also excellent. I'd suggest two things:
1. Get a SuperJoy from Lik-Sang Europe. They're quite cheap, and are basically a SNES pad -> USB converter. It's excellent. :)
2. "Acquire" Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. It's such a genius pick-up-and-play title.

What has FF:C got to do with Chronno Trigger, anyway i've played most of the older FF games already, 4 is the only one i'm certain i haven't played.

don't really need to as a keybaord is just as good, i've already gotten used to the button assignments ages ago. The only annoying thing about ToP was that the NPC character got in the way a bit when you wanted to move about and attack as you're all on the same linear path whereas ToS has many of those in a circle so you never really bump into them at all.

I've just picking up RPG's from SNES and PSX, currently PSX is the main csonole emulator i'm using as I've only just opened up another revenue of opertunities for getting game roms.
